THE UNIVERSITY OF
NORTH DAKOTA MASCOT

Often, mascot costumes and mascot character art are looked at as just pure fun and frivolity. But at the University of North Dakota the mascot was needed to provide a real persona for the new nickname, the “Fighting Hawks”, after the school had previously retired the “Fighting Sioux” nickname. Our company was selected to design the new costumed character (along with a number of mascot graphics) and also to consult on the mascot selection process. The resulting process was smooth and inclusive with the students enthusiastically choosing a winner from the three selections. Now, the new hawk is proudly cheering on everything that is UND!
